This will save you another 200 bucks, for what resolution you plan on running the 980 is way overkill.

Hi Badger, I would dump the sound card since the motherboard will have that built in already and you get to save some money that way.

That is a powerful build Badger. Its actually using the same motherboard and CPU I do as well as the same RAM (I bought the 32GB kit because I run VMware Workstation for various things).

I'd recommend you dump that case. A full tower is huge, and since you aren't running tri-SLI or a custom water cooling setup, its really overkill. I usually stick to mid-towers and I use the

Wow, that surprises me. Corsair makes some good PSU's and the reviews on NewEgg and Amazon are overwhelmingly positive, rating on average 4 to 4.5 stars based on over 1,000 reviews. I guess you just got some bad luck. sad

Cons: Had no problems till after 3 months, now I cannot run any games. Running furmark is insta-reboot and my mobo power surge protection comes up unstable power supply.

Cons: Lasted a little over a month before it all of a sudden quit working.

I agree on the reviews as to why I went with it.  Large majority loved it, but when I looked deeper I found alot just as these two above.  Same thing happened on the first one "surge protection error comes up" and the second one way just quit in the middle of the game, no warning at all, everything went dead.

Gonna attempt a refund and go with another brand.

After requesting, they offered to send a prepaid shipping label and also upgrade to a slightly better power supply, dont know what the upgrade is but accepted.  Great customer service just getting bummed out on the quality of their products.
