I was on the PTU the other night to give it a try. Took a while to get logged in but eventually was successful. I walked around the station for a while, everything looked great but my frames were in the upper 20's (Titan X & graphics on Very High). After about 10 minutes it crashed. I'll try again after the next patch.

Someone linked me this video from the PTU.  I have to admit this was pretty cool.

PTU 2.0 J is now up but it is still plagued with code 0 errors and CTD.  With a new Cryengine error 3.  On the positive side frames per sec are doing much better.  They are testing 2.0 K now and hope to push that out late today.  They think they might have squashed the main code 0 bug and taken a good step in stability.  By that most of us are hoping for 30-60 min sessions but we will not know until we have it in our hands.  J has turrets working in the Retaliator again and they have made some changes in shield/armor levels on the Connie and Retaliator to lengthen TTK.  I know on the other side the 4 X S4 guns on the Connie will destroy most smaller ships in one or two shots if you can hit them that is.

Star Citizen Alpha 2.0 Available!

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/15106-Star-Citizen-Alpha-20-Available

This is available to everyone now.  I recommend downloading this as I should be able to play again.  I actually have the game installed, but I myself have to download the "official" 2.0 release that was just made available.

Yes 2.0 has gone live.  There are of course still bugs and crashes but I can get 30+ min sessions regularly.  It would be pretty darn fun to take and hold the Kareah security station together or man a connie.  If any one is up for checking it out I can get anyone interested up to speed and help with controls and customised settings.   The game is pretty accessible with just a MKB.  I use a full blown HOTAS with pedals for ship control and standard MKB for the rest.  Pretty amazing going from these ships to stations and FPS.  Zero g FPS has a ways to go but even now it is fun and you can do some pretty sneaky stuff.

OK, I just finished playing my first game of Star Citizen with pgill, and it was fun.  I do not have my TS mic working correctly, but at least I can hear now.

cheers

If anyone is up for playing on Monday night, both pgill and I should be on for 10:00 PM Eastern / 9:00 Central / 8:00 Mountain.

The download is over 30GB, so if you want to play be sure to get your game patched and running before hand.

Star Citizen Alpha 2.1.1 Available

Pgill and I are already patched up to 2.1.1.  We would enjoy the company of anyone else if they are interested in playing.

I've been having better performance with 2.1.1. I'm getting my controls configured and a bit of practice in. I may be joining you in the near future.
