Uploaded a bug report. My SC 3.0 won't launch. Starts up and goes to a black screen. Numerous reports of the same issue.

Make sure you have the new 3.0 live launcher and not the 2.6 one or the 3.0 PTU launcher.

Thx, yeah I have the new launcher, verified my files, uninstalled, reinstalled. Its a bug for sure, some others with 21:9 aspect ratio monitors reported the same problem. Hopefully they will address quickly when they are back from the holidays.

Meinlein and I played a little bit of Star Marine tonight in a private match to see some of the changes. I have to figure out how to make this work for me at least as well as it did in 2.6.3.  I had to overclock to be competitive at all in the older version.

Hi All, I've modified a script from an old org I was in to add all RR members to our contacts list in one swoop. Read the top of the script for instructions. Anyone who is a visible member in the RR Organization on the RSI website will automatically be added to your contact list with this javascript.

Happy New Year!!!

I am expecting the 3.3 patch to be out on Wednesday (October 10th).  Supposedly this brings with it AI for FPS as well as "Improved AI Behaviors" for AI flying.

3.3 is open to all in PTU.  They went forward with OCS and Bind culling in 3.3 and wow are the frames per sec greatly improved.  This has also made the mem requirements lower and almost runs on 8gig but 16gig is the min req but has breathing room now.  CPU load is no longer the bottle neck and number of cores now has a major impact.  Curious to see how M9ACE does with his AMD CPU now.   FOIP and VOIP are now in as well as a first implementation and actually works.  Defaults to off so if you want to play with it you need to turn it on every time you load in.  There is one FPS AI mission active currently at Security base Kareah. cheers

I will download it when I am able.  I assume that a link was emailed to me, but my survivormail account does not receive emails anymore.  I was finally able to log into it, but I am going to have to switch over to a new account.

go to the RSI site and in setting go to the PTU tab and copy account to PTU.  That will send you an email with all the instructions and links to get set up.

I've been pretty happy with 3.3. My FPS is finally at a point where the game is becoming playable. I just need to dig out my HOTAS again and get set up.

I can't believe I am saying this but you might want to wait until 3.4.  They are introducing a new way of doing thrusters.  Currently maneuvering (mav.) thrusters are incredibly overpowered and can have as much thrust as the main engines on the rear of most ships.  They are going to change this in 3.4 to have the main engines do as they should and reduce the mav. thrusters output to something more representative of their size.   There is a good video from Citcon on what they plan on implementing in 3.4 here.
